Well London. Im not really sure where to begin apart from all of our incredible destinations this was definitely our favourite place! We could live in London in an instant! We couldn’t decide whether it was the architecture, the style the city had on offer, the multitude of incredible dining experiences or a culmination of all these factors that made us fall in LOVE with London! If you haven’t been you really need to put it on your bucket list!

ACCOMODATION/LOCATION

We would have to recommend staying in Mayfair, not only is the suburb absolutely divine, we found it to be so central. All of the best shopping, restaurants and nightlife is situated in this suburb.

We chose to stay at the Mayfair Hotel we were literally walking distance from everywhere and the Hotel is a boutique style Hotel which had so much charm and a popular celebrity destination. The service was phenomenal. With the pound being slightly ridiculous at the moment for us Aussies, you just need to accept that everything is going to cost that bit more. But value for money staying in the Mayfair area which is the most exclusive part of London we recommend this Hotel. The amenities inside the hotel are amazing which I will discuss in nightlife.

RESTAURANTS

SKETCH: Sketch we can definitely say was the most unique dining experience we have ever had! We dined in the pink room which is quirky and we can promise that you have never experienced a restaurant of this calibre. The food was sensational we highly recommend ordering the duck which is presented to you on a platter then to be deboned and served. Every single dish we had here was jaw dropping and we would rate Sketch a 10/10.

CECCONIS: Being Italian we thought it was only fair to try a famous Italian restaurant. The ambiance was subdued and elegant and the food was extremely traditional. The service was fantastic and the wine selection was amazing. Once again located in Mayfair we would definitely put this on your list and give Cecconi’s a 8/10 and highly recommend the Beef carpaccio.

NOBU: Everyone knows we are huge Nobu fans in Australia, without a doubt our favourite restaurant, cant say the London experience was the same I would recommend you all to try Melbourne in our opinion the best Nobu in the world. 6.5/10

ZUMA: Wow what to say this Japanese restaurant was the equivalent to Melbourne Nobu! Was absolutely amazing every dish was incredible! Wagyu beef skewers a must! 9.5/10.

HAKKASAN: This was modern Cantonese, Bianca is a celiac so wouldn’t recommend going there if you have allergies there isn’t a lot to choose from, in saying that if you are a normal eater the menu looked incredible! The ambiance was lovely and intimate and definitely was an experience! 7.5/10

THE MAYFAIR KITCHEN: Apart from being a visually stunning ambiance the Mayfair Kitchen was the restaurant located in the Mayfair Hotel and we walked in there honestly because we were so jet-lagged one night we had no idea what it was thought we would try and it was actually incredible! The seafood is fresh you can pick your selection alive as well as having an array of aged meats to chose from! We had many meals here and the service was flawless! 8/10.

SHOPPING

Without any type of hesitation London is the best city for Shopping in the world! The selection and variety is endless and you name a designer its in London! From Elie Saab to Zuhair Murad it was all there! We dont have the luxuries of viewing such gowns in Australia. As far as shopping centres go Harrod’s was our prime choice hands down, we can confidently say this is the best shopping precinct we have ever seen world wide. We have never seen such presentation of goods and for example all designer items split up, bags and accessories on first level, then clothing on another, but what we all recommend you visiting is the Shoe Heaven at Harrods. It has almost every single designer you can think of separated in Boutiques and the variety is incredible. We have never seen a Christian Louboutin that boasted so many different varieties. Was truly breathtaking I think we spent hours here! The best thing about Harrods was that its the only department store that goes on sale pre Christmas!

Selfridges was also amazing but we didn’t do much there until after Christmas as thats when the sales were on. The sales at Selfridges were amazing and between the two I think you really have everything covered. London is full of department stores there are so many on every corner I would really only advise that everything you could possibly dream of would be at Harrod’s or Selfridges. If you are looking for something a little bit different and extremely high end we would also recommend Liberty.

Burberry Factory: Visiting the Burberry factory in London is one of my favourite things to do! The cashmere scarves are at least half price not to mention its easy to pick up a trench coat for at least 60 percent off! It’s located in Hackney which is about 30 minute Uber/taxi ride and is highly worth the drive!

Uber:
If you are travelling to London or anywhere in Europe in general we cant recommend Uber enough! It is so much cheaper and so much more efficient! We actually lost our phone in one and the uber driver was honest enough to answer the phone and return it to us, we went to offer him a reward for returning the phone and he absolutely wouldn’t take it. Its a great way of tracking your rides Uber was a 10/10 experience.

Nightlife:

The Mayfair Hotel where we stayed had a bar downstairs that was amazing and a Cigar lounge upstairs. We spent many nights at both these establishments and the crowd is amazing and polished and would highly recommend just for casual drinks before a bigger night out.

Novikov: a This had to be one of the trendiest bars we went to! Amazing drinks and ambience was to die for!

The Ritz The Ritz what can we say this was an incredible experience and probably one we will never forget. On weekends its a members only establishment we were lucky enough to be taken in by a friend and the venue is of an old world opulence and was truly incredible. Definitely one for the bucket list!

The Connaught Hotel-
This is known as one of the oldest and if not the most exclusive hotel to stay in London, even pricier than the Ritz. We caught up with friends there for drinks and the ambience was amazing! Extremely sophisticated definitely wont see any teeny boppers in this establishment.

Libertine (Old China White)- We spent New Years Eve at this club and this was truly probably one of the best clubbing experiences of our life. The bottle service and selection of drinks was first class as well as they had an incredible music not to mention the trendiest crowd. I would recommend organizing your entry before you go as its extremely hard to get its nothing to see a line of at least a couple of hundred people waiting. If you get the chance go!

DSTRKT: Another incredible clubbing experience this is actually rated the number one club in London and an extremely popular celebrity hotspot much more commercial than Libertine, however we still had an incredible night there! The layout of this club is mainly booths so there really isn’t much of a dance-floor. Another one I would definitely recommend organising before hand!

The best way to honestly see London if you are there for a short or long time is the Big Bus tour. Its amazing and you can jump off and jump on, my personal favourite London Icon is the Big Ben building I’m just in love with it! All of the restaurants, bars and clubs we posted are in the Mayfair area hence you can see our love for the suburb!
